Meet your Family Mediator - Bonnie Gordon

Bonnie Gordon is an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) and a Psychologist. 

With over a decade of experience in child and family psychology, Bonnie has worked with children, adolescents, and families across both private and public sectors. She brings extensive expertise in supporting children's emotional development, assisting parents during times of stress and transition, and improving parent-child relationships so that they can thrive and optimize their wellbeing.

In her role as a family mediation expert, Bonnie is dedicated to focusing on the best interests of children. She understands how conflict, separation, and parenting decisions can impact a child's sense of safety, identity, and stability. Bonnie guides and supports parents towards negotiations and agreements that promote their children's developmental, emotional, and relational needs.

Bonnie has significant experience in working with trauma and with a trauma-informed approach. She understands that family separation is a vulnerable time for parents and children, and hence, is adept at creating a safe environment where people can feel comfortable to engage with openness. Bonnie is skilled in facilitating processes that help parents and families reflect, communicate effectively, and consider the needs of their children, both now and in the future. She believes that with the right support, compassion, and space for reflection, parents can reconnect with the deep understanding they have of their children, positioning them to make the best decisions about their children's lives.
